Tuesday Morning
Mr. Fred J. Weinkauf, age 61 years, passed away at his home here Tuesday morning after a lingering illness of several years duration.
Mr. Weinkauf was one of the town's early pioneers, having served in the capacity of postmaster for several years and having also owned the store now operated by R. T. Kingman for many years.
Until sickness overtook him he was an active town worker, ready to lend his hand to any enterprise deemed beneficial to the town and its citizens.
The deceased man is survived by his wife and son, Kenneth, who is engaged in the operation of the gravel pit on the Weinkauf farm north of town.
Funeral services will be held on Friday afternoon from the St. Luke's Evangelical church of which he was a faithful member until he became invalided some five years ago.
