Richard S. Fancovic, of West York, departed this life October 4th.

Richard was a son of the late Marlyce Greiser and Frank Fancevic, of Arizona.

He graduated from Cornwall High School in 1964 and entered the Air Force, serving our country in the Vietnam War as a JET Engine Specialist. Richard graduated from the Abilene, Texas Police Academy in 1968 and was commissioned as a Certified Police Officer. He was also employed by the Texas and Pacific Railway, the Holiday Rambler Corp., Fleetwood Enterprises, Inc., the Oilfield Security Investigations (he was a commissioned security officer since 1980) and an E.M.T. with the White Rose Ambulance sinc 1998 untl the present. He attended the St. Francis Catholic Church in Gettysburg.

He was the loving husband of Mary A. (Tyler) Fancovic with whom he shared over twenty-five years of marriage and surviving, in addition to her and also his father, are one granddaughter, Savannah Grace Fancovic; a step-grandson Anthony Harland Shindlecker; a former daughter-in-law Donna J. Shindlecker; a sister-in-law Cheryl Fancovic; and nices and nephews of Delaware; aunts and uncles in Lebanon.

Richard was also preceded in death by his twin brother Thomas Fancovic and a son, Roger C. Fancovic, who departed this life in 2005.

The York County Veterans Honor Guard performed full military rites and Richard was interred with his son.
