Myrtle Beach, SC- Sarah Brake Cocco, age 50 passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2016. She was born on October 7, 1965 to the late Richard R. "Ralph" Brake, Jr. and Margaret "Peggy" White Brake. Sarah attended and graduated from Rocky Mount Academy, Peace College and East Carolina University. She worked for the State of NC for many years. Sarah loved to dance and had a contagious smile that lit up the faces of everyone around her. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her. Sarah had a wonderful gentle spirit. She was always full of life and laughter and wanted others to feel good about themselves. Sarah was always so upbeat and high energy even during difficult times. Sarah leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband, Stephen Cocco of Sayre, PA; her sisters, Margaret "Scottie" Brake of Raleigh; Patricia "Patsy" Lee Brake-Ludwig of Creedmoor, her brother, Richard R. Brake, III of Rocky Mount; five nieces, three nephews and one great-niece and one great-nephew. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 1, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremations Services with Pastor Ronn McCracken officiating. The family will receive friends and relatives immediately following the service at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Inurnment will follow at the Brake Family Cemetery, Cokey Road @ Calhoun Road, Rocky Mount, NC, 27804. Flowers are welcome or donations may be made in Sarah's name to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
