He served in World War II from October 29, 1943-October 16, 1945 where he received the Purple Heart with bronze cluster, good conduct medal, and EAME theater ribbon. Mr. Verser retired after 33 years employment for G.S.A. with the federal government. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Leo Verser and Billy Carl Verser.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Billie Faye Moore Verser; two sons, David Lee Verser and wife, Jeanne, of Conway, Arkansas, and Ricky Edward Verser and friend, Janet Hinrichs, of Quitman, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Justin Verser of Conway, Arkansas, Brittney Johnson and husband, Jarred, of Conway, Arkansas, and Callie Faye Verser of Quitman, Arkansas; one step great grandchild, Justin Johnson; two sisters, Irene Beasley of Heber Springs, Arkansas, and Jackie Tapley of Greenbrier, Arkansas.
