John David Doerr, 73, of Accident, MD, died Wednesday, April 27, 2016, at his residence.
Born December 14, 1942, in Springs, PA, he was the son of the late Ray Edwin and Evelyn Pauline (Tressler) Doerr. He was also preceded in death by one son, Carlon Doerr and two grandsons, Nicholas W. and Brian R. Friend.
Mr. Doerr was a farmer, owner of Doerr Logging and part-owner of Blue Goose Grocery Store, Addison, PA. He was a member of the Baltimore Orioles Club, Bruceton Mills, WV.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Louise (Hardesty) Doerr, Oakland, MD; three sons, Phil Friend and wife, Christina, Friendsville; Larry Friend and wife, Carolyn, Terra Alta, WV; Mike Doerr and companion, Christina Fazenbaker, Grantsville, MD; two brothers, Carl R. Doerr, Thompson, OH; Ronald R. Doerr, Accident, MD; three sisters, Nancy J. Deckman, Oakland, MD; Florence M. Friend, Lonaconing, MD; Linda J. Dovel, Elkton, VA; daughter-in-law, Robin Doerr, 10 grandchildren, including special grandson, Dylan R. Doerr, who was like a son and 11 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 26722 Garrett Hwy., McHenry (Accident), MD on Thursday from 7-9 p.m. Services will be conducted in the funeral home on Friday, April 29, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Dennis Caton officiating.
Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
Interment will be in the Hoyes Cemetery.
