ALTURA - Funeral arrangements for Ensign Gregory M. Brosig are pending with Sellner-Hoff Funeral Home in St. Charles.
Mr. Brosig, 23, of Altura, stationed with the Navy at Newport, R. I., died early today at the scene of a one-car accident in Norton Township, Winona County.
He was born Dec. 29, 1958, in Rochester, reared in rural Altura, and graduated from Lewiston High School in 1977 and St. Mary's College in Winona in 1981. He enlisted in the Navy and graduated from Officer's Candidate School later in 1981.
Mr. Brosig was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Elba.
Survivors include his father and stepmother, Frank and Mary Brosig of Altura; two brothers, Joseph of Altura and Mark of Nome, Alaska; a stepbrother, Richard Mattison of Winona; a sister, Cathy at home; two stepsisters, Mrs. Michael (Terry) Godfrey of Winona and Mrs. Stanley (Sharon) Banukos of Minneapolis; and his step-grandmother, Mrs. Mary Myers of Belle Plaine, Minn. He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Heinz Brosig, and his paternal and maternal grandparents.
