Rhonda D. O’Connell, 51, of Omro, died Sunday, May 1, 2016 at her home. She was born in Waupun, WI on September 2, 1964 to Robert and Susanne (Duhm) Oelke. On May 15, 2007, she married John O’Connell in Las Vegas, NV. Rhonda graduated Horace Mann High School in 1982. She attended Moraine Park Technical College, graduating in 1985. She spent most of her life in the medical field as a unit clerk and phlebotomist. She was employed 23 years at Mercy Medical Center from 1989. She was a soldier in the US Army Reserve as a transportation specialist. Rhonda met John in 1993 and had two boys, Alex (20) and Joshua (18). She was known as a loving and caring wife and mother. She loved and loved well, especially her husband, her children, her relatives and her friends. She always put others before herself and embraced a positive outlook on life. When in her presence she had the keen ability to make all feel loved and cherished. She also loved to travel, particularly visiting the waterparks in the Dells with her family.
She is survived by her husband John O'Connell (Omro), sons Alex and Joshua (Omro). Parents, Robert and Susanne Oelke (North Fond du Lac), David and Robin (sister) Huck (Fond du Lac), grandmother, Sharon Duhm (North Fond du Lac). Preceded in death by her brother Rick Oelke; grandparents, Warren Duhm and Lorraine Duhm, Waldemar Oelke and Phyllis Sailor. Also, survived by many aunts, uncles and in-laws.
Visitation for Rhonda will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2016 from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave. in Fond du Lac. Funeral service will follow, beginning at 12:00 PM officiated by Michael Farist. Burial will take place at Lake View Memorial Park, 2786 Algoma Blvd. in Oshkosh.
