Karen loved watching sports, especially college, always cheering on her favorite Kansas teams. She was extremely proud of her family and treasured time spent with her grandchildren.
Karen was married to Donald Hickey on April 17, 1958 in Hoisington. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded by a sister, Velma Wallace; brother, Eldon Schlegal; stepsons, Clayton and Randall Garman. Karen married Marion Garman on May 31, 1981 in Garden City, Kansas.
Survivors included her husband, Marion Garman, daughters, Cindy (Troy) Burhoop of Salina, Karla (Paul) Lickteig of Derby; sons, David (Sherry) Hickey of Scott City, Dan (Mary) Hickey of Loveland, Colorado, Craig (Leanne) Garman of Admire; sister, Eva Jean Petroff of Sidney, Nebraska; 24 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and one great-great- grandchild.
