She graduated from Belden High School in 1950.
On January 26-1953, she married Floyd Putney at Laurel, Nebraska. They had three children
Marilyn and Floyd farmed near Randolph, NE before moving to Wausa, NE in 1968. They later moved into Wausa when they retired.
Marilyn was a farm wife who enjoyed gardening, canning and growing flowers. She was a certified nurse's assistant at Wausa Nursing Home in her later years. Marilyn also enjoyed playing cards, visiting with neighbors, and attending 4-H activities with her daughter.
She was a member of Evangelical Covenant Church in Wausa and was active in Ladies Aid.
