Fort Bend Herald, May 22, 2016:

Mary Kovar Nowak of Booth died peacefully Thursday, May 19, 2016 at the age of 95. Daughter of the late Anton and Hattie Kovar of Booth, devoted wife of the late Max M. Nowak and loving mother of Thomas Nowak, Donald Nowak, and Patricia Nowak Ansley and husband Neil. Proud grandmother of Michael Nowak, Amy Nowak, and Christina Baker and great grandmother of Gavin Nowak, Tristin Rodriguez, Frankie Rodriguez, and Mary Romo. She was preceded in death by her three brothers and two sisters.

Mary worked as a substitute teacher at Lamar Consolidated Independent School District and a census taker. She was also the Post Master for the city of Booth for a time. Mary worked as office manager at the Houston Lighting and Power Co plant in Thompson for 25 years as well as weekend work at the Booth Trading Post and was a volunteer poll watcher for local elections. She attended Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Rosenberg and Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Richmond. She loved dancing with her late husband and trips to the casino in Coushatta, LA.

Funeral services will be held Monday, May 23, 2016 in the Chapel at Davis Greenlawn Funeral Home at 2:00 P.M with burial to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon, May 22, 2016 from 2-4 P.M. in the Stateroom at Davis Greenlawn Funeral Home.
