Carlton Alan Cerny Sr., 53, of Blacksburg, S.C. passed away on Friday, May 27, 2016 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
Born in Bussac, France, he was the husband of Teresa Earls Cerny and the son of Gloria Dawn Martin Cerny of Cowpens and the late Charles Alexander Cerny.
He was a former employee of Dougherty Equipment, attended the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, graduated from Gaffney High, enjoyed restoring classic cars, Nascar, mechanic work, and loved his family.
In addition to his wife and mother, surviving are a son, Carlton Alan Cerny Jr. and wife, Carol Renee Cerny, of Smyrna, S.C.; a daughter, Constance Cerny Farris and husband, Matthew Bennett Farris, of Mars Hill, N.C.; a brother, Charles Alexander Cerny Jr. and wife, Cindy Lamb Cerny, of Cowpens, S.C.; two sisters, Cynthia Ann Hall and husband, Mark, of Lincolnton, N.C., and Cheri Cerny of Cowpens, S.C.; and six grandchildren, Laurynn Dellainie McDaniel, Callie April Cerny, Mattison Brielle Farris, Corbyn Alexis Cerny, Makenna Brinlee Farris, and Miccah Bennett Farris.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Gaffney, S.C. The funeral service will immediately follow at 2:30 p.m. Interment will be in Clingman Memorial Gardens.
