Mrs. Josephine Schmit, lifelong resident of Quincy, died in her home, 2027 Elm street, Wednesday afternoon, at 12:20 o'clock. She had been in failing health for the last year, and suffered a heart attack Tuesday evening, which resulted in death.
A daughter of John J. and Mary (Timpe) Bernzen, Mrs. Schmit was born in Quincy, March 20, 1872.
She was married to John H. Schmit, August 23, 1899, by Father Andrew, O. F. M., in St. Francis Catholic church.
She was a member of St. Francis church, a member of the Christian Mothers' Society, a member of the Third Order of St. Francis, and of St. Mary Hospital Society.
She is survived by: her husband; a daughter, Mrs. James Schullian, of Quincy; a son, Paul Schmit, at home; a granddaughter, Joan Schullian; and a sister, Mrs. Katherine Kemner, of Quincy.
