He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, owned Boyd Trucking Co. in Cottonwood, and was a race car driver in Anderson and Chico and at the NASCAR Winston West Series.
Survivors include sons Buz of Cottonwood and Byron of Hat Creek; daughter Sharon Morgan of Redding; eight grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
Services were held at Anderson-Cottonwood Neighborhood Church in Anderson.
