Rolland "Ron" Gene Vice, 75, of Rossville, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at the Hock Family Pavilion in Durham, North Carolina.

He was born June 25, 1940, in Frankfort, Indiana, to Virgil James and Letha Lorene Hagg Vice. On June 27, 1987, he married Almuth Wieland Watson; she survives.

Ron attended Frankfort High School in Frankfort, Indiana and then honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corp. He was the Fire Chief at Michigantown Volunteer Fire Department in Michigantown, Indiana in addition to running his farm drainage and excavating business. Later, he worked at Crellin Plastics/Sonoco/Tech Group in Frankfort, Indiana for over 33 years before his retirement in January 2016. He was currently attending Faith Christian Church in Lafayette, Indiana. He was a member of the American Legion, Moose, and Eagles.

Ron enjoyed riding his Gold Wing motorcycle with his wife and friends. Together they went on many cross country trips and short ice cream runs. He also enjoyed watching drag racing and auto racing, horseback riding, and spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his wife, Ron is survived by his children: David (Danielle) Vice of Frankfort, Indiana; Andreia (Davy) Varnell of Galveston, Indiana; Cameron (Shellie) Watson of Lafayette, Indiana; Brandon (Amber) Watson of South Bend, Indiana; Jacky (Andy) Hutton of Durham, North Carolina; many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents, infant brother, and brother Gordon K. Vice.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 10, 2016, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, Indiana from 4:00-8:00pm. A funeral service honoring Ron will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, June 11, 2016, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, Indiana with Chaplain Tom Covington officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Lawn Cemetery in Frankfort, Indiana with military honors provided.
