Marie Wiener, 94, Sauk Centre, died Sunday, May 22, 2016, at CentraCare Health–Sauk Centre Nursing Home.
A Mass of Resurrection was held Thursday, May 26, at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre with Fr. Jeremy Theis and Deacon Tom McFadden officiating.
Arrangements were by Roy-Hetland Funeral Home, Osakis.
Marie Catherine Moorman was born May 19, 1922, in Melrose to Casper and Mary (Wiewel) Moorman. She graduated from Melrose High School in 1940 and married Sylvester Wiener October 15, 1940, at St. Boniface Church in Melrose. They moved into Sauk Centre in the late 1940s. Marie was a waitress at local cafés in the 1960s and later worked at Fingerhut. She was also a secretary for the Sauk Centre Chamber of Commerce.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sylvester, in 1974; her parents; son-in-law, Daniel Rentz; two grandchildren, Eric and Shaun Rentz; siblings, Casper Moorman, Jr., Marcella Lancaster, Jerome Moorman, Robert Moorman and John Moorman.
