Lucille was born July 18, 1927 to Arthur and Gertrude Brandsma and she was united in marriage to Ronald Wopat October of 1947. Her love of life and positive attitude will live on in all of our lives she touched. She loved to travel, embracing all that entailed and her favorite phrase was “I can go”.
Lucille lived in the Pardeeville area her entire life, where she was a school teacher for many years. She taught 6th grade for several years and then ran a remedial reading program until she retired.
While teaching, she and Ronald bought a Victorian home and restored it. She had an antique store in the home, which she called The Mansion. She loved restoring the home and the numerous furniture items that she sold in her business. She was a member of the Pardeeville United Methodist Church for 60 plus years where she was the church treasurer and served on various committees. She was also actively involved in many community events.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ronald, sisters Betty, Ardis, Carol, Iva, and Joyce and son-in-law Ryder Olsen.
