She was born February 2, 1954, in Oakland, MD a daughter of the late Ward Delmar and Dove Luvina Simmons Moats.
She is survived by 3 brothers, James (Charis) Moats, Wellsburg, WV, Robert (Ruby) Moats, Aurora, WV, and Ward "Elmer" Moats, Thomas, WV, 2 sisters, Ruby Moats, Aurora, WV and Helen Cohen, Tucson, AZ, one special friend, Arnie Lee Cummings, 1 adopted son, Camren Kemphfer, 1 special great-nephew, Timmy Kemphfer, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by 5 brothers, Bill, Samuel, Richard, Earl, and Marshal, and 4 sisters, Rachael, Genevina, Edith, and Charlene.
Ms. Moats worked as a homemaker throughout her life.
She enjoyed working in her flowerbeds, cooking, canning, puzzles, going to yard sales, collecting porcelain Indian dolls, and most importantly, spending time with family on the holidays.
Friends will be received Tuesday, June 28, from 4-8 PM at the Aurora Memorial Building.
Funeral services will be held, 11:00 AM, Wednesday, June 29, at the Aurora Memorial Building with Rev. Debbie Strawser officiating.
Interment will follow in the Aurora Cemetery.
