Wyatt was born on March 30, 1998 in Provo, Utah to Jeffrey Bateman and Melissa Olsen. Wyatt had a happy childhood and was the delight of his parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents. He was the apple of their eyes. His infectious smile and caring demeanor brought such great happiness into their lives. Wyatt was active and had a passion for life. He was an exceptional swimmer for Springville High School, with a passion for the water. He enjoyed boating, family trips to Lake Powell, wakeboarding, and swimming in his Dad’s pool. He also travelled extensively with his Dad and loved snow skiing with him. He had a passion for photography. He was a talented pianist. He was witty with a fun-loving personality. He enjoyed fishing with family in Alaska and caught a trophy king salmon on his first trip, a cherished memory. He was inquisitive and extremely bright. He was a member of the National Honor Society. He loved technology and early in life developed an exceptional gift and talent for it. He was constantly solving technology problems for friends and family. Over his short life, Wyatt’s relationship with his mother was unique. They shared a very special bond between mother and son, but they also shared a close friendship. Wyatt was loving, caring, and compassionate to all. He loved a challenge and seemed to overachieve in every aspect of his life. He was dearly loved by his family and many, many friends. He will be missed tremendously. Wyatt is survived by his mother, Melissa Olsen; father, Jeffrey Bateman; brother, Alexander Bateman; grandparents, Michael (Susan) Olsen and Caryll Bateman; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. Wyatt was preceded in death by his grandfather, Dennis Bateman. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 2, 2016 at the LDS Church on 1965 Canyon Ave, Springville, UT. Family and friends Gatheredl at the church Friday, July 1, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Wyatt was laid to rest at the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
