At the age of 80, Forrest Carter went to be with his Heavenly Father on Monday, June 20, 2005, after a two- and-a-half-year courageous battle with cancer. He was a resident of Louisville, Ky and obtained a high school dipolma from local schools. He was a retired employee of the VA Medical Center and a member of the Epicurean Club and West Chestnut Street Baptist Church.

He entered the military in the branch of the Army on September 9, 1943 and was a veteran of World War II.

He was predeceased by his mother Rosa Muir.

Survivors include his wife, one son and one daughter, step-children, a goddaughter, one sister, 10 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; two nieces; and two nephews a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at West Chestnut Street Baptist Church with burial in Calvary Cemetery.
