NEWPORT NEWS - Alfred Joseph Daiber, 56, a two-year resident of the Peninsula, died Sunday, Feb. 14, 1993.

Mr. Daiber was employed as a psychologist with rehabilitation services for the Department of Veterans Affairs for more than 22 years. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Hampton.

A native of Barberton, Ohio, Mr. Daiber received his undergraduate degree from Catholic University of America and his master's degree and professional diploma from Teachers College, Columbia University, New York City.

Survived by his wife, Ann M. Daiber; two daughters, Janet L. Roderick and Kathleen Daiber of Providence, R.I.; his mother, Mary E. Berger of Doylestown, Ohio; two half-sisters, Edna Giarrana of Canton, Ohio, and Lois Longazel of Hazelton, Pa.; two brothers, John Daiber of Palo Verde, Calif., and James Daiber of Salem, Ill.; two half-brothers, Willard Daiber of Smithville, Ohio, and Conrad J. Daiber, of Spring Hill, Fla.; and a grandson.

Memorial service Thursday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church by the Rev. Robert E. French.
