Marjorie Groteluschen, 84, of Leigh, Nebraska, died Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at Morys Haven Nursing Home in Columbus, Nebraska. She was born May 8, 1930, in Schuyler, Nebraska, the daughter of Emil and Alice (Kment) Valish.

Marjorie attended rural Colfax County grade school and graduated from Schuyler High School. On May 10, 1950, Marjorie was united in marriage to Karl Groteluschen at the Presbyterian Church in Schuyler. The couple farmed together in the Leigh, Nebraska, area.

Marjorie enjoyed gardening, cooking, playing cards, ceramics, camping, and going to polka dances. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Shell Creek.

Marjorie is survived by: Husband, Karl; sons, David (Janelle), Dean (Julie), and Dwayne (Cindy); daughters, Dianne (Emil) Turek and Donette (John) Rinaker; ten grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; sister, Arlene Wolfe; brothers, Vernon (Sharon) Valish and Allen (Cheryl) Valish; and sister in law, Dorothy Valish.

Marjorie was preceded in death by: parents; brother, Emil Valish; and brother in law, Ralph Wolfe.

Funeral service on Monday, March 23, 2015 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Shell Creek, Nebraska. Interment in Calvary Cemetery.
