Mr. Wilson, born in Harnett County, was the son of the late James Milo Wilson and Leona Edwards Wilson. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a sister, Pearl Setzer; a son, Michael Wilson; a grandson, Eddie Ryals; a granddaughter, Melissa Ann Holland and a great grandson, Eddie James Ryals.
He was the owner and operator of Halford Wilson Trucking Company and a farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Lois Carter Wilson of the home, a son, James Halford Wilson, Jr. and wife Glenda of Cameron; three daughters, Shelia Holder of Sanford; Kay Looper and husband Dan of Sanfors; and Connie Holland and husband Mike of Cameron; a brother, Cleo Wilson of Roxboro; twelve grandchildren, twenty six great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
The family received friends 6-8 PM, Monday, July 18, 2016 at the funeral home in Sanford.
The funeral services were held at 2 PM, Tuesday, July 19, 2016 in the Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Glen Hallead officiating.
Burial was made in Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, Harnett County.
