Sandra L. Renn (nee Schmeltz), age 86, of Crown Point (L.O.F.S.) formerly of Gary and Lowell, IN passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, June 5, 2016.
Sandra is survived by 3 children: Debra Renn (Rick Parker); Tom (Carla) Renn; and Linda (Tib) Schultz; daughter-in-law: Pamela Renn; 8 grandchildren: Scott (Katie) Volk; Amber (Kevin) Knaga; Eric (Jessica) Schultz; Heather (Joseph) Henrys; Kyla (Andrew) Feder; and Jason, Erin, Tommy Renn; and 8 great-grandchildren: Finley & Claire Volk; Dylan Knaga; Stark Schultz; Paisley & Piper Henrys; Trinity Clemans; and Saydie Garner.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Richard “Dick” Renn; and son: Richard Renn Jr.
Sandra graduated from Horace Mann High School in 1947 and married her high school sweetheart, Richard, in 1948. Sandra was a homemaker, but also the secretary/bookkeeper for her husband's floor covering business. She was a member of Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Crown Point and was active with Keenagers and Garden Clubs in LOFS. Sandra enjoyed playing bridge and most importantly loved spending time with her family.
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at Geisen Funeral, Cremation & Reception Centre, 606 E 113th Ave/South St, Crown Point, IN 46307 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM.
A private family funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at Geisen Funeral, Cremation & Reception Centre in Crown Point with Pastor Howard Clevenger officiating. Interment will follow at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville, IN.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Cross of Christ Lutheran Church or Humane Society of Hobart.
