Nellie Burns Adamson, age 68, of Mt. Olivet, Kentucky, went to be with her Lord on Friday, July 22, 2016, in Sevierville, Tennessee. She was surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Nellie continued to substitute teach in the Mason and Robertson County School systems following retirement. She was a member of the Sardis United Methodist Church. With her tough hands and a pretty grin, she will be missed by many.

Adamson; one brother, Ronnie (Susie) Burns; a special nephew, Cameron Six; a sister-in-law, Jan (Joey) Caldwell; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and loving family members of each generation. She was preceded in death by: her two sisters, Nancy Burns Gifford and Rhonda Burns Six; a mother-in-law and father-in-law, Doris and Jesse Adamson; and a nephew Parker Six.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 24, at Sardis United Methodist Church, with Dr. Michael Rice officiating. Burial will follow in Shannon Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Monday at the church. Palmer Funeral Home and Crematory, in May’s Lick, is serving the family.
