Bridger--Hilda "Mimi" Alberta Zahn, 99, of Bridger, passed away Wed., Nov. 17, 1993, at Laurel Care Center.

She was born to Louis and Julia Lehfeldt on Aug. 1, 1894, in Billings. She grew up in Billings and Lavina areas, and the original family ranch is still operated by the Lehfeldt family. On April 29, 1916, Hilda wed Oscar Zahn in Billings. They were married for 61 years. She loved to dance, cook, play cards and was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone. She and her husband fished, hunted and enjoyed the outdoors. She was a ranch cook in the Two Dot area for many years and also lived in Roundup. No one ever went away from her table hungry and she always had the coffee pot on.

She is survived by her sister, Eileen McCann of Las Vegas; daughter, Nadine Howland of Bridger; three granddaughters; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. Her parents preceded her in death as well as her husband; three brothers, one sister, and son-in-law, Gene Howland.

Cremation has taken place and and burial of ashes will be at the Lavina cemetery on Saturday, Nov. 20, at 1 p.m. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren will always remember her warm smile, wonderful cooking, and how many pennies she allowed them to win as she taught them to play cards.
