Obituary for Nell Louise (Rathke) Lehman
Texas has lost a special member of the greatest generation. Nell Louise (Rathke) Lehman was born February 22, 1928 in Simmons Texas and passed away peacefully on Sunday July, 24, 2016 at the Live Oak Nursing Facility in George West, Texas. Nell was the youngest of six children born to Emil and Mae (Johnson) Rathke. She attended grade school at Simmons and graduated from Three Rivers High School in 1943. Married Harry Lee Hill May 11, 1945 and had four children Ronald Lee Hill (son) of Rochester Washington, Doyle Dale Hill (son) of Three Rivers, Texas; and pre deceased Jana Lynn Hill (daughter) and Tammie Kay Hill (daughter). Nell had six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Nell also went to beauty school and earned her cosmetology license and had her own beauty shop. Nell married Frederick A. Lehman June 11, 1976 and enjoyed 39 years of marriage. She enjoyed some special little things like having her hair done once a week, quilting. Nell loved to cook for family and friends, loved to travel around the country in their car. Nell also loved sitting out on their front porch with her husband Fred in the early mornings having a cup of coffee and watching the humming birds.
She was also preceded in death by her parents her 5 siblings and her 1st husband Harry Lee Hill and her second husband Frederick A. Lehman along with her 2 daughters, mentioned above.
Visitation will be Wednesday July 27, 2016 from 6-8 pm at the Roberson Funeral Home Chapel in Three Rivers, Services will be Thursday, July 28, 2016 at 10 am at the Roberson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at the Simmons Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Calvert Jones, Garrett Hill, Herbert Krietsch, Warren Wheeler, Jim Wynn and Story Proctor Jr.
