Andy was born on 26 Jun 1911 to his parents, Edward Michael Klein (1878-1963) and Emma Suzanne Jackson Klein (1879-1966) in Shawnee, KS. Andy worked at the Sunflower Munitions Plant in the early 1940's to support the war effort and his growing family. At one time, he was the youngest hotel manager in the US, working in Kansas City, MO. In 1945, Andy was the founder and president of Andy Klein Pontiac in Overland Park, KS, where he worked for many years.
Andy was very active in the Kansas City area community, particularly with helping the Catholic Church's mission; in 1968, he served as the Chairman of the Catholic Layman's Conference of the Archdiocese of Kansas City and was an active member of the Rotary Club, Serra Club, Sertoma Club, and Overland Park Chamber of Commerce. Later, he was appointed to the Knights of the Holy Sepulcher in 1983.
In business, Andy was elected to the governing board of the KC Pontiac Dealers Association; he was also a "Pontiac Master," a program highlighting dealers who made outstanding contributions.
