Grace Ann was born September 11, 1929, on the family farm north of Baileyville, Ks, the daughter of John C. and Mary Vondemkampe Fienhage. She attended Cottonwood School until the 3rd grade then St. Mary's School in St. Benedict, Ks. graduating in 1947.
She attended Wichita Business School, her first job was with Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Topeka, a few years later she moved to San Francisco, California. She worked for British Motors LTD, and also did some modeling.
On August 5, 1960, she married Richard (Dick) Eastman, they moved to Seattle, Washington, and later moved to Portland, Oregon. She worked as a Kelly Girl until she was hired as Asst. Manager National Electrical Construction Assn. She worked there for 20 years and retired at age 57. She continued working in the Chapter Office after her retirement.
Grace volunteered every Monday for 24 years at Providence Hospital in the ICU department.
Grace enjoyed life to its fullest and was the happiest when surrounded by friends and, of course, her flower garden.
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Eastman in 1976, her father, John C. on November 7, 1979, her mother Mary on April 2, 1958, a baby sister Edna on January 5, 1925, a brother Wilfred on March 13, 1999, a sister Margaret Buessing, May 13, 2009.
She was cremated, and services were held in Portland.
