Dale Arnold Pajunen, a long-time resident of Page, Arizona, unexpectedly passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2016, while out for his morning walk after open heart surgery five years before. He always enjoyed seeing the “bunnies and puppies” as he walked each morning. The Fred Warners missed seeing him before they found out he was gone.

He was born July 24, 1946, in Eveleth, Minnesota, to Arnold and Gladys (Stauty) Pajunen.

He moved to Flagstaff, Arizona in his early teens with his mother and three sisters to be near their father, who was in Page, Arizona, starting in 1957, working on the dam, where he was a Flagstaff High School Freshman in 1961 before his family moved to Page that same year where he graduated from Page High School in 1964.

He worked in grocery and sales most his adult life at Babbitt’s, Marquis Distributing, Frito Lay and as an ED admissions clerk at Page Hospital, where he met his second wife, Barbara (Holman) Pajunen.

Besides his PHS classmate sisters, Charlene Finley '64 and his twin sister, Carol Moseley '64; he is survived by his oldest living sister, Lois Maria Pajunen Bingham (1942), a native of Eveleth, Minnesota--now of Phoenix, AZ, who graduated from Flagstaff HS, Class of 1960, then attended Arizona State College (NAU), got engaged to Richard Bingham and was planning a fall wedding when the rest of her family moved to Page in 1961.

He is also survived by his three children, Deanne (Kevin) Butler, Carrie Phy, and step-daughter Christie (Luis) Campos. Also by six grandchildren, Heather Butler, Tyler Butler, Amber Butler, Cody Phy, Cristian and Ethan Campos.

He was predeceased by his parents and oldest sister, Patricia Jean Pajunen (1940-1943).

He will be greatly missed by his wife, family, friends and the community and church he so graciously served every day of his life.
