Bruce R. Seemann, 77, of Fond du Lac, died Thursday, September 8, 2016 at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born November 28, 1938 in Portage, WI, the son of Reinhold and Regina Toppe Seemann. He graduated from Rio High School in 1957. Bruce was a veteran of the U S Army Reserves and during college served in the ROTC. Following the service to his country he graduated from UW Madison with a Master Degree in Food Science. He worked as a chemist for Red Star Yeast in Milwaukee and Post Foods in Battle Creek, MI; where he was on the team that developed Gaines-Burgers dog food. Bruce retired from Moraine Park Technical College in 1999 after 30 years of teaching Food Science and also some reading and math to students who needed some “refreshing”.

He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, the Malone Historical Society, Empire Threshing Association, and was a charter member of the Fondy Vintage Auto Club. Bruce enjoyed watching the early Green Bay Packers and Badger football. He loved history, hobby farming, tinkering on horns, old cars and tractors, and taking care of his cats. “Dad loved things most people would throw away”.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Carol; one daughter, Nadine (Randy) Baus of St. Cloud; one son, John Seemann of Fond du Lac; two grandchildren, Kaitlin (Ryan) Van Ruiswijk and Lucianna Baus; two sisters, Gertrude (Norman) Stilson and Sylvia Stadler, both of Columbus; two brothers, Reinhold Jr. (Yvonne) Seemann of Rio and Loren Seemann of Cambria. He is further survived by his mother-in-law, Anna Karr of Fond du Lac; two sisters-in-law, Linda Bogenschneider of St. Cloud and Anne (Brian) Orvis of Fond du Lac; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Chester Bacon; step father-in-law, Franklin Karr; brother-in-law, Clarence Stadler; nephew, Gary Seemann; aunts and uncles.

The visitation will be held from 1:00 – 3:00 pm on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, W2090 County Road W, Mt. Calvary.
The funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Private burial will take place Wednesday in Cambria Cemetery.
