Adam Gange, son of Benjamin and Anna (Miltenberger) Gange, was born May 12, 1925 at Drake where he was raised and educated. As a young man he entered the United States Army and served his country during World War II.
On May 17, 1944, Adam was married to Esther Heer at Orrin. They made their home in Drake all their married lives, where Adam was employed by Soo Line Railroad as a section foreman. Following Esther’s death on June 21, 2013, Adam remained in Drake until moving to the North Dakota Veterans Home in Lisbon in October of 2015.
Adam was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church and the David D. Nehrenberg American Legion Post # 32 of Drake. He was also a member of the Soo Line Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees.
He is survived by his daughter, Judy (Ron) Pedersen of Fargo; 4 sons, John (Charlene) Gange of Wahpeton, Ralph of Drake, Julius (Connie) of Jamestown and Jeffrey (Nancy) of Bismarck; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Mary Siemers of Fargo and Betty (Willis) Hieb of Rapid City, SD.
Adam was preceded in death by his wife, Esther; 2 sons, Reuben and Roland; and granddaughter, Melissa Gange.
