Arrived at Ellis Island, NYC on 24 Aug. 1924 with daughter, Johanna (Hanni) aboard the ship "Columbus". Note that Maria named step-brother, Peter Belle (#171774264) as her relative in her immigration statement.

Artistic woman who hand painted delicate items on priest's robes and on silk bookmarks.

Family story tells of husband being killed in a mine accident in Germany (1907). Maria apparently then a widow with three small children.
