MEFFERT, KAREN A. LUDWIG, 48, of Louisville, passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2006 after a courageous battle with Leukemia. She was a member of the Assumption High School Volleyball and KIVA family, U of L womens basketball player, basketball and softball official and coach.

She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph T. Ludwig Sr.

She is survived by her daughters, Ashley Ann and Leah Marie Meffert, who were her life and inspiration; mother, Carolyn A. Ludwig; sister, Shari Ramser (Jim); brother, Ted Ludwig (Lisa); uncles, James D. Ludwig and John Shafner; nephews, Chris McIntosh, Dylan Ramser, Jacob, Jonathan and Caleb Ludwig; and a dear friend, Kim Roberts.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Friday at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, with burial to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, noon -8 p.m. Thursday, and after 11 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
