Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 22, 2007 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in St. Joseph for Beatrice A. "Bede" Reitmeier, 90, of St. Joseph who died Tuesday, September 18, 2007 at Assumption Home in Cold Spring. Reverend Joseph Feders, OSB will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call between 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Joseph and after 8:00 a.m. Saturday at the church. St. Joseph Senior Citizens, the Council of Catholic Women and the Daughters of Isabella will pray together at 4:30 p.m. and parish prayers will be at 6:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Bede was born on March 2, 1917 in Avon, Minnesota to Theodore and Rose (Micklish) Hoeschen. She married Frank X. Reitmeier on October 4, 1939 at St. Benedict's Catholic Church in Avon. Bede lived in St. Joseph all of her married life and worked for Singer Sewing Machine Company in St. Cloud for many years where she taught sewing and did bookkeeping. She was later self-employed as a seamstress, retiring in 1995. Bede was a member of St. Joseph's Parish, St. Joseph Senior Citizens and Council of Catholic Women, the Daughter's of Isabella, St. Joseph V.F.W. Post #5773 Auxiliary and the Sacred Heart League.
Bede is survived by her sister, Marcella Spohn of Richmond and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank on June 7, 1992; brothers, Ralph, Robert, Sylvester, Ted, Eugene; and sisters, Verena Townsend, Julitta Hauswirth, Addie Hoeschen, Colie Bruemmer and Rita Peterson.
