Edgar C. Midgett

Services for Edgar C. Midgett, 79, Goodlettsville, retired employee of the Du Pont Rayon Plant, Old Hickory, will be at 10 a.m., tomorrow at First Baptist Church, Old Hickory.

The Rev. Lucius Hart and the Rev. A. B. Hiser will officiate. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. The body is at Cole and Garrett Funeral Home, Goodlettsville.

Midgett died Saturday morning in Madison Hospital, Madison, of cancer, after a long illness. He was born in Watertown, Tenn., son of Hugh and Talitha Midgett. He came to Nashville in 1925 and worked in the operations department of the rayon plant until his retirement in 1945.

His wife died in 1949. She was the former Era Lee Douglas, Wilson County. They were married in 1904.

Survivors are five daughters, Mrs. Joe Ferguson, Old Hickory, Mrs. C. W. Hayes and Mrs. Golden Thompson, both of Goodlettsville, Mrs. William Brown, Chattanooga and Mrs. A. B. Jackson, Madison; two sons, M/Sgt. Harry H. Midgett, Fort Knox, Ky. and James Midgett, Nashville; two sisters, Mrs. Maggie Ivy and Mrs. Mac Bennett, both of Nashville; three brothers, Elbridge Midgett, Lebanon, Jack Midgett, Nashville and Albert Midgett, Fresno, Calif.; 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
