Rev. Father Clement Berberich, O.F.M., professed vows with the Order of Friars Minor at Santa Barbara in 1904, and was ordained to the priesthood in 1909. He was the pastor of St. George Parish in Seattle, Washington, from 1917 to 1928. He was then the pastor of St. Francis of Assisi parish in Sacramento, California, until 1931. He returned to his native San Francisco, and was the pastor of St. Anthony of Padua parish from 1933 until 1940. He spent his later years serving at St. Boniface parish, also in San Francisco. Father Clement was for many years the Commissary Provincial of the Third Order of St. Francis for the Pacific Coast, and he died at St. Joseph Hospital in San Francisco at age 71.
