Mary I. Hough, 87 of Cherokee, KS died at 1 a.m. Wednesday February 12, 2014 at the Medicalodge Nursing Home in Frontenac.
She was born October 31, 1926 in Columbus, KS the daughter of Percy Lenn and Bertha Lavon (Masters) Lucas. Mary attended schools in Columbus. Throughout her life she lived in various places including Wichita and Hanford, Washington.

Mary married Raymond Hough on September 11, 1945 in Girard, KS; he preceded her in death on July 18, 1995.

She was a homemaker. She also had a love for birds especially cardinals, she enjoyed eating ice cream, and finding that special sparkly treasure wherever it may have been. Mary will be greatly missed.

Survivors include 2 daughters Rose Marie Burns and husband Ed of Cherokee, Donna Girard and husband Rod of Palmdale, CA; a son John Hough and wife Tena of Cherokee; a sister Carroll Comstock of Englewood, CO; 9 Grandchildren and 15 Great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers Harold Olin and Marvin Darrell Lucas and her beloved Gunther.

According to her wishes Mary has been taken for cremation and no immediate services are planned at this time.
