Viola "Vi" Deines
Viola "Vi" Deines was born April 16th, 1923 on the family farm in WaKeeney, Kansas to John and Helena Blehm Wiedeman.
She passed away on October 18, 2016 in hospice in Corpus Christi, Texas at the age of 93.
Vi attended Benish Rural School. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith at Zion Lutheran Church in Trego Center Kansas. In 1960, she moved to Loveland, Colorado where she established a home for herself and her daughter, Jo.
Here she met and married the love of her life, her beloved husband, Art Deines. To this union, one son, James Arthur was born. Daughter Jo Duston and son James (Penny) Deines survive.
She was preceded in death by her husband Art Deines, parents, and her nephew Don Stahlecker. Also preceded by three sisters; infant Elfrieda Martha, Tabea (Rudy) Heronemus, Alvina (Leonard) Wegele and three brothers; Herman (Tabea) Wiedeman, Raymond (Lenora) Wiedeman, and Edwin (Christina) Wiedeman.
One sister, Eleanor Stahlecker of Loveland, Colorado, survives. Vi had six grandchildren: Doug (Pam) Hamilton, Kayla (Matt) Horner, Katie Deines, Emily Deines, Jacob Deines, Madilyn Deines, and one great-grandchild, James Warren. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Viola Deines Foundation in care of Resthaven Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held 1:00 pm, Thursday, November 10th at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
