William "Bill" Richard Waynick, Jr., 59, Springfield, born Jan. 18, 1947, at Carthage, MO, passed away December 28, 2006.
He was a 1965 graduate of Nebraska City High School, Nebraska, and a 1972 graduate of Milford Tech. College in Milford, NE.
He served in the Navy Seabees from 1966 to 1970 and was a Vietnam war veteran.
He was employed by the Paul Mueller Co. for the past 28 years; he was the Product Development Manager.
Bill and Dianna Kay Ehmke were united in marriage on December 16, 1966, in St. John's Lutheran Church, Otoe, NE, and were privileged to share 40 wonderful years together.
Bill was of the Baptist faith and the American Legion Post #69, Springfield.
He enjoyed designing and building furniture and he was an avid Nebraska Husker football fan! Bill especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and was very proud of their accomplishments.
Bill was coach of both of his son's little league baseball teams. He enjoyed helping kids who needed a chance to play sports. He liked to fish (until his wife caught a bass bigger than his). Bill was dedicated to his work and enjoyed the many challenges that it provided. During his career, he developed a couple of patents while working at Paul Mueller Co.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lew and Bertha Perry, and Roy and Sally Waynick; parents, William Richard Waynick and Mary Ellen (Perry) Waynick-Scheetz; and parents-in-law, Leonard and Ruby Ehmke.
Bill is survived by his step-parent, Herald Scheetz, of Lincoln, NE; children, Mark Allen and Jaye Lyn (Leek) Waynick, of Ozark, MO; David Richard and Cathleen Marie (Landewe) Waynick, of St. Louis, MO; blessed with three grandchildren; one sister, Sherry Jane Waynick, of Lincoln, NE; three nieces and three nephews; several dear cousins; two brothers-in-law, one sister-in-law, one stepbrother, two aunts and many dear friends and co-workers.
A special thank you, from the family, to Bill's second family, past and present co-workers at Paul Mueller Co.
Memorial services are Jan. 2, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Burial will follow in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, near Lake Springfield.
