She was born in Hopkins County on Jan. 28, 1929, to the late Henry Howton and Eller Bailey Howton.
She was a nurse's aide for many years and a member of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Black, and an infant daughter.
She is survived by one son, Ronald Keith Black of Illinois; one stepson, Earl Junior Black of Marion, Ohio; two brothers, William Howton and Mike Howton, both of Madisonville; and five grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Beshear Funeral Home in Dawson Springs with the Rev. Gerald Tyson officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery in Caldwell County.
