Dora Agnes Wolter, daughter of Fredricka and Daniel Wolter, was born near Fonda, IA July 14, 1895, and died Jan 7, 1956 at the age of 60 years 5 months and 24 days. She grew to womanhood in the vicinity of Fonda and lived there all her life with the exception of 3 years in Nebraska .
On February 19, 1930 she was united in marriage to Thomas E. Hatton of Corning, Iowa at Fort Dodge, Iowa . They lived on a farm for two years at Pocahontas, Iowa, then moved to Sac County on a farm 11 years, and in 1942 moved on their farm where she has lived until her departure. In June of 1955 she submitted to an operation at Rochester, MN from which she never fully recovered. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Fonda.
She leaves to mourn her departure her husband and two daughters, Marjorie, Mrs. Merle Batz of Lytton, Iowa, by a former marriage and Mary Ann (Mrs. Leo Johnson) of Havelock, Iowa , and three grandchildren, four sister: Anna (Mrs. Will Waldron of Pocahontas) , Mary (Mrs. Fred Hout of Fonda), Cora (Mrs Sam Martin of Fonda), Agnes (Mrs. Edd Carlson of Havelock), and one brother Roy Wolter of Knoke.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Frank Wolter of Fort Dodge and Baney Wolter of Fonda.
Mrs Hatton loved to sing often sang solos on different occasions, and was a member of the Presbyterian Church Choir as long as her health permitted She was spared long enough that they were permitted to celebrate their Silver Wedding anniversary in February of last year with her family and friends.
Casket bearers were Earl Peters, Lester Baskerville, E F Chiles. George Veerhusen of Fonda and Orrie Schnell and Cecil Galbraith of Sac City. Interment was in Cedar Cemetery.
