Postville, Ia. — Special: Funeral services were held Monday at the home for Charles H. Huebner, 72, who died Friday following a protracted period of failing health.
Dr. R. B. Garten had charge of the services at the home and R. R. Douglass had charge of the Masonic committal services which wrere held at Elkader.
Mr. Huebner was born Aug. 20, 1864, in Germany. He came to this country when he was 20 years old, settling at Garnavillo. He was an interior decorator by trade.
He was married Dec. 10, 1886, to Miss Hulda Seaman who died in September, 1891. To this union was born three children.
On Dec. 16. 1891, he married Mrs. Fred Miller of Elkader. Mederville was their home for about a year when they moved to Elkader. Postville had been their home for the past 38 years.
Mr. Huebner was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and he had been a member of the local Masonic lodge for the past 30 years.
Surviving besides the widow are; one daughter, Mrs. John Gruel, Harvard, Ill.; four sons, Rudolph, Henry, and Carl, all of Postville, and George of Elkader; two step-sons, William Miller and Fred Miller, of Postville; ten grand children and two great grandchildren.
Two daughters and a son died in infancy.
