Jennie Florence Peters was born March 10, 1921 in Adrian, Minnesota, the daughter of Peter and Flora (Hutt) Dammer. She grew up in rural Ellsworth and attended country school in Midland Township, Lyon County Iowa. Jennie married Russell Peters on November 23, 1943 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Soon after their marriage they moved to the Peters’ family farm north of Little Rock where Jennie was actively involved in the farming operation. When Russell would need to be gone for “business”, Jennie handled the daily chores and any unexpected challenges on the farm. In 1980 they moved to their new home in Little Rock. In November 2000, Jennie’s husband Russell passed away after 57 years of marriage. Jennie enjoyed the many trips she and Russell took together, as well as the winter months they spent in Arizona. She liked visiting with people and was ready to go anywhere, anytime especially shopping. The highlight of Jennie’s week was when the family came over for coffee on Sunday. She also enjoyed playing cards and checking Facebook on her ipad. Jennie was a member of Salem Reformed Church and the Little Rock Woman’s Club. Jennie moved to the Good Samaritan Society in George, Iowa, on August 19, 2016 and passed away there at the age of ninety-five on November 30, 2016.

She is survived by two sons, Orvis (Diane) Peters of Little Rock, IA and Kennis (Sandra) Peters of Little Rock, IA; nine grandchildren, Laura (Denis) Nachtigal of Little Rock, IA; Rhonda (Terry) Gebken of Little Rock, IA; Cory (Abbie) Peters of Little Rock, IA; Paula (Nate) Van Briesen of Grinnell, IA; Nathan (Ashley) Peters of Little Rock, IA; Ross (Tracy) Peters of Anoka, MN; Mitchell Peters of Little Rock, IA; Wes Peters of Little Rock, IA and Patrice Peters of Little Rock, IA; ten great-grandchildren, Chad & Jill Nachtigal, Wyatt, Ben and Dylann Peters, Brock and Beckett Van Briesen, Henry and Frederick Peters and Kaylee Peters; one sister, Florence (Eldon) Junkermeier of Mesa, Arizona; and very special friends Erik & Marianne Koolhof of The Netherlands’.
