Robin Lynn Duey Maier, age 49, passed away January 21, 2015 after a long illness. She was born April 6, 1965 in Bremerton, Washington. Robin graduated from Central Kitsap High School.
Robin married Douglas Maier March 22, 1985. They resided in Portland, OR 1985-1997. Robin loved children. She ran a daycare in her home, consisting primarily of the children of family and friends. Robin's boys were fortunate to grow up spending their days at home with their mother, cousins and friends.
Robin, Doug and family moved to Silverdale, Washington in 1997. Robin had a passion for fitness. She was a Certified Personal Trainer, assisting individuals to meet their fitness goals. As an instructor, Robin taught various group fitness classes at West Coast Fitness, Kitsap Tennis and Athletic Center, and the YMCA. She also traveled the country training and evaluating instructors for the Silver Sneakers program. Robin had a special place in her heart for the participants of her Silver Sneakers classes.
Robin is survived by her husband Douglas Maier of Silverdale, WA; sons Daniel Maier (Jaime) of Silverdale, WA, Justin Maier (Sarah, grandson Jackson) of Vancouver, WA and John Maier of Silverdale, WA; parents Dave and Char Duey of Silverdale, WA; brother Dan Duey (Michelle) of Anchorage, AK; and sister Luci Kegley (David) of Olympia, WA.
We will all miss Robin's upbeat personality, contagious laugh and bright smile. She could light up a room and made each person she encountered feel special.
A memorial service will be held at the Silverdale United Methodist Church, (9982 Silverdale Way NW) Saturday, 1/31/2015 at 11:00 a.m. All are invited to attend.
