Jenanne D. Vikre, age 88, of Decorah, IA, formerly of LeRoy and Harmony, MN, passed away Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Winneshiek Medical Center in Decorah, IA.

Jenanne Delores Finholt was born on June 3, 1928, daughter of Oscar and Julia (Faldet) Finholt in Decorah, IA.

On June 24, 1945, she married Terrence “Terry” Vikre at the Glenwood Church Parsonage in rural Decorah.

Jenanne was a creative person who stayed active by making quilts, crocheting, sewing, and playing cards. During the summers she planted a large vegetable garden and canned most of her harvest. Jenanne liked to bake and cook Norwegian treats and dishes. She enjoyed playing golf and watching Minnesota Twins baseball.

Jenanne’s faith and family were very important to her. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren and hear about what was happening in their lives. Jenanne enjoyed living at Aase Haugen and the friendships she made there. While at Aase Haugen Jenanne was the traveling Euchre champion.

Surviving Jenanne are her 3 sons Ron (Nancy) Vikre of Harmony, MN, Daryl (Mary) Vikre of Cresco, IA, Neil (Wendy) Vikre of LeRoy, MN; grandchildren Kristine Van Hoof, Amy Van Hoof, Allison (Corey) Whalen, Ben (Anthony Paiva) Vikre, Brenda (Chris) Lentz, John (Narumi) Vikre, Nikki Rissman, Staci (Brad) Streich, Terrye Vikre, and Grant Vikre; great grandchildren Alexa, Mady, Zachary, Kayley, Gracie, Nicholas, Olivia, Savannah, Kayla, Malia, Kalina, Emma, and Elyse; and her sister Eunice Anderson of Decorah, IA.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband Terry in 1976, son Jeff in 2007, 2 brothers and 3 sisters

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at LeRoy Lutheran Church in LeRoy, MN with Pastor Herman Bakker officiating. Burial will take place in LeRoy Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at the church.
