RACINE - Mr. Alvin H. Kraus, 74, passed away at his niece's home in Racine on Friday afternoon, March 21, 2003. Born August 14, 1929 in Racine, he was the son of the late John C. and Amelia K. (nee: Maier) Kraus.

He was educated in the schools of Racine Unified School District and graduated from Horlick High School. He also attended the University of Wisconsin - Madison, Houghton College and Columbia University. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

Surviving are three brothers, Edward A. (Martha) Kraus of Kenosha, Benjamin F. Kraus of Fallbrook, Calif., and Donald D. (Helen) Kraus of Racine; a sister, Carolyn Weitzel of Kenosha; and numerous nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, Henry, John in infancy, George, Herman as a boy, Herbert, and Kenneth Kraus; and four sisters, Diane Kraus as a child, Natalie "Dolly" Kraus as a young adult, Marie Rolfson, and Ruby McCarthy.
