Born Nov. 8, 1927, in Rough and Ready, he was a son of the late Harvey V. and Katie Mattern Wolfgang.
He was a graduate of the former Hegins Township High School.
He was a bookkeeper for the former AA Shade Egg Processing, Spring Glen, and retired as a bookkeeper for Gold Mills, Pine Grove.
He was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View, and F&AM Valley Lodge 797, Valley View.
Ray enjoyed hunting, collecting sports cards and metal detecting.
Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were four brothers, Cleon Wolfgang, Norman Wolfgang, Guy Wolfgang and Paul Wolfgang; four sisters, Elda Troutman, Iva Wolfgang, Gertie Deibler and Dorothy Schreffler.
He is survived by his wife, Tillie F. Harner Wolfgang, to whom he was married for 54 years; a daughter, Sandra E. Lucas and her husband, James, Hegins; a grandson, Douglas Lucas and his wife, Angie, Hegins; nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Andrew's Cemetery, with the Rev. Floyd Sollenberger officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to Hegins Area Ambulance Association, P.O. Box 678, Valley View, PA 17983. Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, is in charge of arrangements.
