Gorda G Hammerly, 43, miner of Jasonville, expired in St Anthony's hospital Tues at 5 pm. He had his back broken in a mishap at the Queen 4 Mine last November and has been confined to the Terre Haute Hospital since them. His condition has been considered grave since the tragedy with little hope for recovery. Mr Hammerly was a well known & highly respected citizen of Jasonville. Survivors include:
wife: Fern
2 daughters: Mary Jane and Marjorie
son: John Richard
5 sisters: Mrs V V McGillis, Mrs A O Scudder, Mrs Alva Robinson, Mrs Ralph Phipps and Mrs George Chambers.
Services were held at the U of B Church in Jasonville, Friday pm, burial in Lebanon Cemetery.
