Juan was born abt. 1840 Mex./Tex.?. He married Gabriela Villarreal on April 1, 1862 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Brownsville, Tx. They had 9 children all born in Cameron Co. They are listed in the 1880 US Census living in Cameron Co. and the 1900 and 1910 US Census in Beeville, Bee Co. His headstone only states his name, as well as that of Grabiela Villarreal, Francisco Balli, and Clemente Balli being interned in the same plot. The headstone was dedicated by his youngest daughter, Juanita B. Zavala. The St. Joseph Catholic Church of Beeville, Tx. has the death record entries for Juan and Grabiela.
