Marian Ruth Krapf, 85, of Rolling Mill Avenue, Tamaqua, PA was granted her angel wings on Sunday, November 27, 2016 in Coaldale, PA. She was the wife of Donald W. Krapf to whom she was married 60 years in July. Marian was a daughter of the late Thomas and Marguerite (nee Kelly) Hanlon. A 1949 graduate of the former St. Jerome High School, Tamaqua, she worked for the Reading Company Railroad as a telephone operator until her marriage in 1956. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, Marian was also known as "den mother" because family and friends would gather at her home to socialize. She took great pride in both her family and home and was kind and welcoming to everyone. She also enjoyed making platters of food for her loved ones, watching birds from her back porch, and "Grammy" was known for her bottomless snack cabinet. A lifelong member of St. Jerome Catholic Church, Marian remains a member of the Parish of St. John the XXIII. In addition to her husband, Donald, she is survived by children, Linda Springer and her husband, Chuck of Orwigsburg, PA and Karl Krapf and his wife, Crystal of Frackville, PA; grandchildren, Garth Devlin of Pittsburgh, PA, Connor Devlin of Millersville, PA, Ryan Springer of West Chester, PA, Olivia Springer of Orwigsburg, Brett Krapf, Alexander Krapf, and Kyra Krapf of Frackville; siblings, Robert Hanlon, Thomas Hanlon, Alice Jeronis, Catherine Jeronis, and Emerita Depos; and many nephews and nieces. Marian was predeceased by siblings, Leonard Hanlon, Andrew Hanlon, Bernadette Swetz, and Marguerite Rascavage. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, December 1 in Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 307 Pine Street Tamaqua. Call 7-9 PM, Wednesday, November 30 at the Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral Home, 500 E. Broad St., Tamaqua. Interment will be later at the convenience of the family. Memorials in Marian's name may be made to St. Jerome Regional School, 250 West Broad Street, Tamaqua, PA 18252.
